Manisha Bhattacharya started learning pottery in 1983 under Mansimran Singh at Delhi Blue Art Pottery, and was later apprentice to Nirmala Patwardhan in1984-85. She was at Garhi during 1986-88 and then studied with Ray Meekar, working under Deborah Smith at Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry in 1989-90. She was at the School of Art & Design, Cardiff, Wales on a Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship and worked under Jane Hamlyn, Millfield Pottery in1992-93. She was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship under which she went to study at Alfred University, New York. Manisha is an expert in Raku. She has had several solo and group exhibition in India and abroad to her credit and has also received numerous awards for her works.
