Lekha Bhagat learnt pottery at Delhi Blue (1992-94) from Sardar Gurcharan Singh who also taught her glazing and other technical aspects of making studio pottery. She moved to Garhi when Delhi Blue closed down and under the guidance of senior potters there, she blossomed into a serious potter, exploring, experimenting and learning from the collective knowledge of the pioneering potters. Drawn to functional pottery, Lekha’s attempt is to bond craft and art to enhance every day, ordinary lives, much in the manner of her guru, Sardar Gurcharan Singh.
