HAKU SHAH was born in 1934, he graduated in Fine Arts from M.S. University, Baroda in 1955. In 1959 he did his Masters in Fine Arts from the same university. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1989. he has had a number of solo shows including ones at International House Davis, California, USA,1993; Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai, 1996; The Art of the Adivasis, commissioner, concept, design, Kobe, Setagaya Saitama Museum, Japan, 1986; and Contemporary Streams of Indian Art, New South Wales Gallery, Australia, 1993. He lives and works in Ahmedabad.
