Esther David studied art at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda. She has held ten exhibitions of her sculptures and drawings in Mumbai between 1968 and 1979. Her works are in collections in India and abroad, including Ahmedabad’s City Museum. She is a practicing artist, critic, columnist and author and was Chairperson, Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi. She often teaches art appreciation at CEPT University and was invited by UNESCO Paris to organize an exhibition on intuitive art. Her books include, The Walled City, By the Sabarmati, Book of Esther, and Book of Rachel. She has also authored a book on India’s Jewish Heritage, Ritual, Art and Life Cycle. She lives and works in Ahmedabad.
