Born in 1968 in Karnataka, Arunkumar H.G. did his Bachelors and Masters in Fine Art, specializing in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Vadodara. Winner of the Akademi Award of the Lalit Kala Akademi, Arun has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in India and overseas. Selected exhibitions: 37th National Exhibition, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, (1993); Garhi Artist Studio, New Delhi, (1997); Nutida Knost Fran Indien, Goteborg and Stockholm, Sweden, NGMA Collection, (1998); Inflatable Works*, Nature Morte, New Delhi (2001); Sheesha, Ecole Superieure des Beaux-arts De Tours, France, (2003); Adelade Festival of Arts, Adelaide, Australia, (2002); Journeys, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi, (2004); Hunger World Social Forum, Porto Alegre, Brazil, (2005); Nature Morte, New Delhi, (2006)*, amongst others. Arun has also participated in several workshops and residencies like the ARCUS Artist-in-Residence program, Moriya Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, (1999), KHOJ International Artist-in-Residence, Khirki village, New Delhi, (2000), CHROMA Public Art Project, Bergen, Norway, (2003), International Artists Camp, George Keyt Foundation, Colombo, (2004). His work is held in many prestigious public and private collections, both in India and overseas.
