Angad Vohra has been a potter since 1976. He honed his skills further apprenticing at Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry, for three years. In 1994 he started Mantra Pottery, his own production line, a culmination of his growth and development as a potter over two decades. He makes high-fired stoneware using a wood fired natural draft line. The pots are made using kick wheels and with hand prepared clay that supports his personal desire to provide a viable alternative technology that fuels local rural employment. Very few tools are used at Mantra and generally all the equipment from wheels to banding wheels, kilns and moulds are often made by the potters themselves at Mantra.
Angad Vohra lives and works in Pondicherry.
